Guiding our future
The Chrysalis Strategic Plan 2006-2010 was adopted in August 2006. It represents a great accomplishment for entire Community whose time and input lie at its heart and for the Strategic Planning Task Force, which has been a driving force through the process.

This Strategic Plan is slated to guide our path until 2010, and it will serve as a daily reminder to focus not on the ground before our feet, but on the horizon. It reminds us that our mission is not to survive, but to thrive. Please see down below for downloads.

Registration of the School
Chrysalis Montessori School Inc. is an independent School registered with the W.A. Education Department.

Incorporation of the School
The School is registered with the Department of Corporate Affairs as an incorporated association. The constitution is expressed in the Rules of the Association and a copy is available from the administration office. When a child commences at the School, the parents who have signed the enrolment form are automatically members of the Association and as such are qualified to vote at the Annual General Meeting and any other General meetings. Other interested people may also become members of the Association as non-parent members.

The Management Committee
The Management Committee is responsible for the overall management of the School. Key areas include educational philosophy and policy development, financial management, ensuring that all legal responsibilities are met, employment of the principal, maintenance of school premises and public relations and community networking. The Management Committee is made up of volunteer parents, who are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting held in March. There are also two ex-officio members - the school principal, and a staff representative elected by the staff members.

Subcommittees
To assist in carrying out its responsibilities, the Management Committee has established the following subcommittees:

  • Educational Philosophy
  • Finance
  • Parent Liaison/Public Relations
  • Property Development and Maintenance

Subcommittees are working groups of interested members of the School community. They are either of an on-going nature or for a short-term purpose. Membership typically consists of between 4 and 8 Association members (including non-parent members if applicable). The Convenor of each Subcommittee is also a member of the Management Committee.

The function of these Subcommittees is to discuss, review, organise, investigate and report on the matters outlined in their brief from the Management Committee. They meet as required and meetings are open to all interested parents. Details regarding the times and places of these meetings are advertised in the weekly Newsletter.
